Oats belong to the whole grain cereals. Oatmeal is dried, hulled and cut oat grains. There are also oat flakes. In this variety there is one less processing applied, namely cutting. Furthermore, there is oat flour made from ground oat grains. Fine oatmeal has the advantage that its cooking time is shorter than coarse oatmeal.
Usage and storage
Boil oatmeal for 3 minutes and post-boil for 3 minutes. Then use in smoothie, as porridge etc. Store sealed and dry.
