What are Tiger Nuts?

The name Tiger Nut is a somewhat confusing name since the Tiger Nut is not really a nut. In fact, the Tiger Nut (Chufa) is a tuberous plant, is vegetable and gluten-free. It grows on the underside of the root of a grass species. The Tiger nut is brown in color and has a sweet almond flavor, the structure of the nut is fibrous. Chufa is the Spanish name for the Tiger nut. In Spain, Chufa milk is a famous milk they drink frequently there. This product contains ground tiger nuts.

Usage and storage
Tiger nut flour can be used for baking pancakes, cookies and poffertjes. When combined with other gluten-rich flours, it can also be used for baking bread. The structure of the flour may be somewhat grainy. Store cool, dry and closed.
