The deacidified form of vitamin C
Ascorbic acid is by far the best known form of vitamin C. It is therefore the variant that occurs naturally in our diet. Oranges, broccoli and apples; we all classify the vitamin C in these foods as ascorbic acid.

Nevertheless, this is a form we classify as acidic, so supplementation in high doses can result in gastrointestinal discomfort. Freely soluble in water
