Maitake (oak hare) is an edible mushroom native to Japan, North America and Europe. It is a mushroom that grows mainly on the roots of hardwood trees, such as oak and beech. Maitake has been used for centuries in traditional Japanese and Chinese medicine because of its purported health benefits. In Japan, maitake is also called "dancing mushroom" because of the joy it can bring to those who find it. 

There are several ways in which maitake mushrooms can be consumed, including as dietary supplements in powder or capsule form, as well as in dishes such as soups, sauces and stir-fries.

Usage and Storage
1-2 x daily, dissolve a generous teaspoon (approx. 3 g) in 250 ml of water, 
tea, coffee, smoothie, soup or sauce. Do not exceed the recommended dosage.
