This stain remover, Terre de Sommières, is a simple, traditional stain remover with strong absorbent properties. It is a powder and can be used for stain removal, absorption, neutralization, and even for washing the hands of crafters and auto mechanics.

How to use the powder
Sprinkle generously over the surface to be treated, without rubbing. Let it work for several hours (minimum 2–3 hours). Then gently rub or dab, and finally blow away the powder to remove it.

For fabrics
After sprinkling and waiting until the powder is completely dry, brush the garment or fabric. This works very well for:

Grease stains on leather or suede boots

Oil stains on parquet flooring
First remove excess oil or grease with absorbent paper or blotting paper. Then generously sprinkle Terre de Sommières over the stain without rubbing and let it work for at least 2–3 hours. Gently rub the powder once it has absorbed the stain. Blow away the powder. If the stain remains, repeat the process.
Shoe polish stains on oiled furniture or parquet
Take a clean, soft cloth and moisten it with a little turpentine essence and Terre de Sommières. Gently press onto the polish stain on your furniture or parquet. Leave to work for half a day. Blow away the residue and then reapply a layer of wax or finish for protection and polishing.
Candle wax stains
First, carefully remove as much candle wax as possible with a wooden spatula. If wax remains, place absorbent paper or blotting paper over the stain and hold a warm iron above it to re-melt the wax. Then sprinkle with Terre de Sommières. Leave overnight, polish off the loosened residue the next day, and blow clean.
Old stains
If the stain is old, heat it with a hair dryer or a hot iron before sprinkling with Terre de Sommières. The older the stain, the more often you will need to repeat the process until the stain disappears.
Oil or grease stains on granite or marble, or oil paint stains
Sprinkle the grease stain with Terre de Sommières and let it work for 2–3 hours. Remove the powder using a vacuum cleaner or a brush. For stubborn stains, you can make a paste by mixing the clay with turpentine essence until it has a paste-like consistency that can penetrate the stone’s pores. Apply the paste using tweezers or a spatula and leave it to work for 12–24 hours.
For crafters and mechanics
After working on a car or motorcycle engine, hands often become very dirty. Clay-like earth such as Terre de Sommières, combined with water, is very effective. Add water to the Terre de Sommières to make a paste and rub your hands together. The mixture will clean your hands perfectly.
