Rose hydrolate / Rose water of biological origin
Hydrolates are the main or by-product of the steam distillation of plant parts in the isolation of an essential oil. The collected, condensed steam contains water-soluble components of the essential oil. The fragrance of a hydrolate (or hydrosol) is often less potent than that of an essential oil. A hydrolate is not the water to which a few drops of essential oil have been added!
Rose hydrolate or rose water has the most refined scent of all hydrolates.
